The Government Railway Police (GRP) has successfully traced and recovered 200 mobile phones worth Rs 30 lakh using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. Special teams across the Railway Police District tracked devices lost or stolen from passengers, often during journeys when phones were misplaced or snatched.
During a cell phone recovery event held at the Warangal Commissionerate office, the police commissioner distributed recovered cell phones to their owners. He mentioned that a special unit has been established in each police station, along with the City Crime Station (CCS), to track lost and stolen cell phones. He urged the public to file a complaint on the CEIR portal as soon as a phone is lost, which will assist in its recovery.
