Cyberabad Police rescue 664 children during Operation Muskaan-XII

Cyberabad Police rescued 664 children during the month-long Operation Muskaan-XII conducted in July. The drive targeted child labour, begging, rag-picking and other hazardous situations, with details of all rescued children uploaded to the DARPAN platform for rehabilitation and monitoring.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police rescued 664 children during Operation Muskaan-XII, a month-long special drive conducted across the commissionerate from July 1 to July 31. The operaton is aimed at tracing missing children and rescuing minors from child labour, begging, rag-picking and other hazardous situations.

As part of the operation, the Cyberabad Police constituted seven special teams, each comprising one Sub-Inspector, four police constables and one woman police constable. The teams conducted inspections at industries, factories, companies, shops, construction sites and other establishments to identify and rescue children engaged in child labour. They also carried out a special drive to identify children involved in begging. The details of all rescued children were uploaded to the DARPAN (Digital Analysis for Reunification and Protection of At-Risk Children) application for rehabilitation and further monitoring.

Among the 664 rescued children, 644 were boys and 20 were girls. Of them, 162 children were from Telangana, including 159 boys and three girls, while 502 children belonged to other States, comprising 485 boys and 17 girls.
