Cyberabad records immersion of 1.03 lakh Ganesh idols

More than 1.03 lakh Ganesh idols were immersed at designated points across Cyberabad as of September 23, with the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation deploying field teams, machinery and control room monitoring. Flower waste is also being separately collected and processed for reuse.

Hyderabad: As many as 1,03,149 Ganesh idols were immersed at designated immersion points set up across Cyberabad as of September 23.

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) deployed field teams, manpower and machinery for immersion operations, including cranes, lighting, sanitation, waste management, devotee movement and safety measures, a press release said.

Flower waste is being collected separately at immersion points as part of sustainable waste management measures. The segregated flowers are dried and processed into products such as incense sticks, dhoops and diyas for productive reuse of festival waste.

A control room is continuously monitoring immersion arrangements and field activities, enabling real-time coordination among teams and a prompt response to requirements, it said.

The CMC is coordinating with police, traffic police and other departments on crowd management, public safety, traffic regulation and sanitation. Field-level monitoring and coordinated arrangements will continue until the immersion process is completed, it added.
