Cyberabad traffic police act tough against illegal bike racers, stunt performers

This year alone, 15 cases have been registered, leading to the seizure of 203 bikes and 3 cars. The accused bikers have been produced in court.

Hyderabad: In an attempt to curb dangerous bike stunts, the Cyberabad police booked 206 individuals for reckless driving in the IT Hub area.

On Monday, Dr. Vineeth, DCP (Madhapur) said that the authorities have taken stringent measures to curb this stunts on bikes. This year alone, 15 cases have been registered, leading to the seizure of 203 bikes and 3 cars. The accused bikers have been produced in court.

The DCP clarified that a video, posted on social media X, depicting a youngster performing stunts, while firecrackers were tied to his bike, was not recent. “On investigation, it was found that the video was an old one and the incident did not take place during this year’s Diwali festivities,” he said.

Last year, one Sameer of Ramanthapur had performed the stunt and uploaded the video on an Instagram account. A few days ago, one Shabaz had re-posted the same video after downloading it. A case has been registered against the concerned and the vehicle has been seized, the DCP said.

The Cyberabad police warned of stringent action against persons who are spreading false news. “If anyone posts these types of videos, photos without proper verification to create panic among public and disperse false information, appropriate legal action will be initiated against them,” he warned.

The parents and guardians are requested to control their children, as there is every possibility of fatal accidents while performing such tricky bike stunts,” the official added.
