Hyderabad: The Hyderabad central zone police on Sunday organised a ‘cyclothon’ event in connection with the Police Commemoration Week.
Around 500 cyclists, including 100 police personnel, participated in the event flagged by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (central), K Shilpavalli.
This cyclothon proceeded from People’s Plaza to Seven Tombs in Tolichowki..
Speaking on the occasion, DCP K Shilpavalli thanked the HCL management and Hyderabad Cyclists for organising this Cyclothon in collaboration with the police department in memory of the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
She also requested everyone to participate in large numbers and make the “Mega Blood Donation Camp,” being organised in all zones of Hyderabad City on Monday, a success.
A cyclothon is a large-scale cycling event, often a non-competitive marathon or ride, that serves various purposes like promoting health, raising awareness for a cause, or community building.
