Yadadri-Bhongir: Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration Dr Satyanarayana on Thursday said Pattana Pragathi and Palle Pragathi programmes were aimed at comprehensive development of urban and rural areas in the State.

Participating in Pattana Pragathi programme held in a Dalit colony at Rayagiri in Bhongir municipality, Satyanarayana said that out of total 10 days of Pattana Pragathi, the programme would be conducted in Dalit colonies for two days in 142 municipalities in the State. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was keen on construction of community halls in all Dalit colonies. He reminded that the State government had accorded top priority for Dalit empowerment in its agenda.

He said that a urinary should be set up for every 1,000 persons in the towns. The State government had allocated Rs 500 crore for construction of veg-non veg markets and Rs 200 crore for Vaikunta Dhamams (graveyards) in towns. He asked the people to participate in Haritha Haram and take responsibility for ensuring survival of saplings planted by them.

He also suggested the officials to utilise the services of retired employees for Pattana and Palle Pragathi. The government would soon take up a project with Rs 350 crore for setting up of faecal sludge treatment plants in all municipalities. It was also proposed to set up an underground drainage system in 20 municipalities.

Bhongir MLA Pylla Shekar Reddy said that the people should take part in the development programmes in their areas.

Bhongir Municipal Chairman Anjaneyulu, Additional District Collector(local bodies) Deepak Tiwari also attended the programme.
