Hyderabad: BRS leader Dasoju Sravan filed his nomination for the MLC seat under the MLAs quota on Monday, in the presence of party working president KT Rama Rao and senior leader T Harish Rao. Senior leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Gangula Kamalakar, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Padi Kaushik Reddy and others, also accompanied him.
Speaking to mediapersons after filing his nomination, Sravan thanked party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao for entrusting with a great responsibility to be the voice of people in the State Legislature. He reaffirmed his commitment to the party as well as the people of Telangana. He thanked the party leaders for their support.
With its existing strength in the Assembly, the BRS had an opportunity to nominate one MLC and Chandrashekhar Rao opted for Sravan who dedicated himself for the cause of Telangana statehood and later for its development.
On the occasion, Rama Rao recalled that Sravan was nominated for MLC in 2023, but the BJP had obstructed his appointment. He stated that Chandrashekhar Rao, who had recognised Sravan’s contribution to the party and the Telangana statehood movement, ensured he got the opportunity once again. He took a swipe at the BJP’s interference, stating that if the party had not blocked Sravan’s nomination earlier, he would have been an MLC much sooner.
