Hyderabad: The deadline for the delivery of Custom Milled Rice (CMR) for the 2023-24 Yasangi season in the state has been extended by one month. The deadline ended on December 15. As a result the Food Corporation of India (FCI) stopped rice procurement from the State.

The Civil Supplies Corporation took up the issue with the centre and followed up with the centre with a request for extension of the deadline. Consequently, the state has been granted an additional one month for making the CMR deliveries to the FCI. With the extension of the deadline that came into effect on Thursday, the state can deliver custom milled rice to the FCI till January 25, 2025.
