Khammam: A farmer died, allegedly by suicide, at Parthasaradhipuram of Penuballi mandal in the district.

Veeraswamy was said to have suffered losses last year in tobacco cultivation. There have been clashes in the family over the debts caused by the losses. He left the house four days ago and hanged himself from a tree in the forest area on the outskirts of the village.

The villagers who were passing by the area found the body of Veeraswamy in a decomposed state and informed the police.

The police reached the spot; shifted the body to the mortuary in Penuballi for post-mortem, registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
