Nirmal: A 39-year-old tenant farmer committed suicide by consuming poison as he was unable to repay loans at Biloli village in Lokeshwaram mandal on Friday.
Lokeshwaram police said that the deceased was Armur Gangadhar, a resident of Biloli village.
Police said Gangadhar resorted to the drastic step as he was depressed by his inability to repay the debts incurred in farming, when none was present in his home on Thursday night. He lost consciousness and was rushed to a government hospital in Bhainsa. He died while undergoing treatment on Friday. He is survived by wife, son and daughter.
