Hyderabad: Union Minister G KishanReddy on Thursday demanded Chief Minister A RevanthReddy to roll back the decision to auction 400 acres of land at KanchaGachbowli under Serilingampallymandal limits in guise of resources mobilisation. He wanted the State government to declare the 400 acres and the adjoining 800 acres of land as the national park.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, the Union Minister said the 400 acres of land was rich in biodiversity and was home to 734 plant species, 220 bird species besides ancient rock formation – Mushroom Rock.
Stressing that lung space was shrinking in Hyderabad, the government’s decision to auction 400 acres via the TGIIC would transform the locality into a concrete jungle and cast an adverse impact on the environment.
“In the larger interest of the society, the State government should consider declaring the 400 acres and the adjoining 800 acres of land as the national park,” KishanReddy said.
