Hingoli (Maharashtra): The decomposed body of an unidentified man was found along a roadside in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district on Sunday morning, with police suspecting it to be a case of murder, officials said.
One hand of the deceased was severed, and several injury marks on one leg were distinctly visible, they said. The police received information at around 11.30 am about the man lying dead in shrubs along a roadside in the Jamgavhan village area in Kalmanuri tehsil. The police suspect that the body had been lying at the spot for around four days.
The circumstances at the scene raised suspicion that the man may have been killed elsewhere and the body subsequently dumped in the Jamgavhan area, the police said. A probe was underway and the police were checking reports of missing persons in the surrounding areas to establish the deceased’s identity, they added.
