Karimnagar: District Collector R V Karnan instructed officials on Friday to make lighting arrangements at Karimnagar Cable Bridge on par with Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge in Hyderabad.
The Collector, accompanied by Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar, Valluru Kranthi, inspected the ongoing works at the cable bridge being constructed across Manair river downstream of Lower Manair Dam on the outskirts of Karimnagar town.
Interacting with engineers, he enquired about the progress of the project and instructed officials to speed up works and complete all pending works as early as possible. The Collector also visited LMD and enquired about water levels in the project.
Earlier, Karnan visited weekly market Rythu Bazar, where he advised vendors to ensure that the market is kept clean and sell vegetables only on platforms allocated to them. He instructed district marketing officer Padmavathi to take steps to ensure that they sell vegetables only from the platforms. Farmers should wear identity cards and only fresh and quality vegetables should be sold to customers, he said.
Interacting with vendors, Karnan enquired about transportation facilities to bring vegetables to the market. He also advised the vendors to take Covid vaccine if anybody had not taken so far.
Earlier, Karnan inspected the land for construction of integrated vegetable market in agriculture market yard.
Agriculture Market Committee Chairperson, Eluka Anitha, Irrigation Assistant Engineer Shiva Kumar, Executive Engineer Nagabushanam, Road and Buildings Executive Engineer Sambasiva Rao and others participated in the programme.
