Adilabad: Deeksha Divas was celebrated grandly in erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday. Former minister Jogu Ramanna performed ksheerabhisekam to a flex poster of BRS supremo K Chandrashekha Rao and paid floral homage to the Telangana martyrs at a programme held in the BRS party’s office to mark the occasion in Adilabad town. He inaugurated a photo exhibition conducted as part of the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Jogu Ramanna vowed to oppose the anti-public policies of the State government. He opined that Telangana made rapid strides on many fronts under the able leadership of Rao for 10 years, but was witnessing old days in the governance of the Congress. He alleged that many poll promises were not kept by the party.

The former Adilabad MLA regretted that instances of food poisoning in the Assembly segment represented by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reflected his inefficiency. He recalled that Rao’s fasting forced the then Centre to carve out a separate state. He said that Deeksha taken up by Rao holds a special place in the hearts of people of Telangana.

Meanwhile, BRS working president Balka Suman along with former MLAs N Diwakar Rao and Durgam Chinnaiah performed ksheerabhisekam to a flex poster of Rao before inaugurating a photo exhibition at the office of the party in Naspur mandal centre in Mancherial district. Suman said that the ruling of the Congress brought days of emergency and hopelessness and suppression back.

Similar events were organized in Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts. Local cadres of the BRS took part in the programmes and hailed Chandrashekhar for achieving Telangana state by spearheading the movement.
