Madhapur police probe fake reporter incident at Governor’s event
A function attended by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in Hyderabad witnessed confusion when media persons caught an alleged fake journalist carrying multiple microphones with national channel logos. Following a complaint by reporter Shaik Mohsin Ali, Madhapur police detained the man and his associate.

Hyderabad: Confusion prevailed for some time at a function attended by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Friday at a hotel in Madhapur when media persons caught an alleged fake journalist during the event.
The Madhapur police, following a complaint made by a reporter Shaik Mohsin Ali, registered a case against two persons including the alleged journalist and started investigation.
According to reports, during the programme attended by the Governor, the national media persons spotted a person keeping more than half a dozen microphones with logos of national news channels in a bag. As the man failed to provide a satisfactory answer the police were called.
The police took the man and his associate into custody and shifted them to the police station. Following a complaint the police registered a case.
“Further investigation is underway in the case. The men told us that one Sandeep Yadav, had invited them to cover the event. They claimed the microphones with logos were given to them by the management of the news channels, we are verifying the claims. Further action will be taken based on the findings,” Madhapur Inspector Krishna Mohan said.
