Bhupalpally: Collector Rahul Sharma on Thursday expressed displeasure over the delay in completion of the construction works of four primary health centres (PHCs) in the district.
The Collector, who reviewed the health department works, wanted to know why the Bhagirthipeta, Chennapuram, Rangayyapalli and Sultanpur primary health centers works were not completed so far. “As per schedule the work of these PHCs were supposed to be completed in November 2022. What caused the delay? Even after sanctioning funds why it is not completed. Why officials have not taken action against the contractor?”he asked.
Sharma directed the officials to immediately change the contractor and complete the work through a new contractor at the earliest. He also ordered the completion of the work of doctors’ residences in Tadicharla and Mahamuttaram.
The Collector directed the Panchayat Raj engineers to start the construction work of primary health centres in Gori Kothapalli and Jadalapet and submit proposals for the construction of a primary health centre in Vallamkunta village of Malhar mandal. He also asked the health officials to submit proposals for the sanction of 108 ambulances in Palimela and Ghori Kothapally mandals.
