Delhi Public School: Budding news readers demonstrate expertise

Reading newspapers provides a great sense of educational value. It doesn’t only enhance knowledge but it also improves readers’ language skills and vocabulary.
Therefore, to encourage the children to improve their reading skills and enhance general awareness Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills organised a news reading competition for the students of classes III to V virtually. The competition aimed to bring out formal reading abilities in each of the students and to develop confidence in reading.
All participants read different sections of newspapers with confidence. They were judged under several rubrics like fluency, accuracy, confidence and pronunciation. The judges were surprised to assess the talented newsreaders. The students of each grade showcased the unique skill of news reading and amassed applause and certificates from judges.
