Denied party ticket, Congress leader goes missing in Vemulawada
Congress leader Thota Raju from Vemulawada, who was planning to contest municipal elections from Ward No 4, went missing after being denied a party ticket. His family lodged a complaint and police are checking CCTV footage to trace him

Rajanna Sircilla: A Congress leader from Vemulawada town, Thota Raju, who was planning to contest the municipal elections and was denied a ticket, was reported missing on Monday morning.
Raju, who had decided to contest from Ward No 4 of Vemulawada municipality, had made serious efforts to secure the party ticket. However, he went missing on Monday morning and his mobile phone was found switched off.
Upset over the party’s decision to allot the ticket to another leader, Raju went missing, party sources said. His wife Devalakshmi and other family members panicked after local leaders began visiting their house and enquiring about his whereabouts.
Based on a complaint lodged by the family members, police began checking CCTV footage installed at Raju’s residence as well as in nearby areas.
