Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has invited Toshiba Corporation, the Japanese multinational electronics company, to set up fuel cell industries in Telangana.

Speaking after visiting Toshiba’s headquarters along with officials in Tokyo on Wednesday, the Deputy Chief Minister said fuel cell technology would have increased usage in the proposed “Future City” in Hyderabad and urged Toshiba to set up relevant units in the State through joint partnerships.

Stating that Telangana needs modern generators, energy-saving, storage products, electric vehicle batteries, and related services, he urged Toshiba management to take advantage of these opportunities and invest in the State.

The Energy Minister said the State government had plans to convert all the State run RTC buses in the State to electric vehicles soon, and that Toshiba’s services would be essential in this transition.
