Desperate Congress now alleges BRS, BJP secret pact to influence Jubilee Hills bypoll

With two days left for voting in the Jubilee Hills by-election, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud accused the BJP of influencing the Election Commission and colluding with the BRS to manipulate voter rolls. He alleged that names from other constituencies were added and over 30 per cent of voters deleted, calling it part of a secret alliance.

Hyderabad: With just two days remaining for voting in the Jubilee Hills bypoll, the Congress continued to display signs of anxiety, with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud’s remarks adding to the charge on Saturday.

Goud alleged that the BJP at the Centre is influencing the Election Commission and indulging in irregularities. Citing instances from other States, he said that in Haryana, people from outside were enrolled as voters, while in Bihar, where the BJP was not strong, many voters were removed from the rolls.

He said similar irregularities are being seen in the Jubilee Hills by-election as well, as names of people from other constituencies have been added to the voter list in Jubilee Hills. He claimed that the BRS has adopted such tactics over the last 10 years to win elections.

“Over 30 percent of voters have been deleted from the constituency. All attempts are being made to cast votes of such people by involving others. All this is being done as part of the secret alliance between BRS and BJP,” he said.

He urged the Election Commission to be vigilant and asked Congress workers to stay alert.

Interestingly, it was the BRS that had come out first with proof of fake voters being added by the Congress in Jubilee Hills.

Meanwhile, late MLA Maganti Gopinath’s mother, Maganti Mahananda Kumari, on Saturday lodged a complaint with Raidurg Police Station seeking an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her son’s death.

In her complaint, she stated that she was denied permission to meet Gopinath while he was undergoing treatment at AIG Hospital.

“The Hospital security acting under instructions from the individuals responsible for his care prevented me from meeting him,” she said.
