Sangareddy: Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran has urged Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy to develop the Singur Multipurpose project into a popular tourism destination.
The MLA along with MP Zaheerabad BB Patil met the Union Minister at his chambers in New Delhi on Monday.
The multipurpose project, located in Singur village in Pulkal Mandal of Andole constituency, was constructed across river Manjeera and has 29.91 TMC ft water storage capacity.
Stating that the project has been attracting a huge number of tourists from Hyderabad and other parts of the State, Kranthi Kiran said there was a need to provide good facilities at the project site for tourists. Since the State government will keep the project filled with water round the year by pumping in Godavari water through the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), there is great potential to develop the project as a sought after tourist destination in Telangana State, he said.
Kranthi Kiran also congratulated Kishan Reddy on his elevation as Cabinet Minister at the Centre. Yellareddy MLA A Surendar was also present.
