Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister D Anasuya said electing Naveen Yadav would aid in development of Jubilee Hills constituency, especially the long-pending issues of many slums would be addressed.
Despite electing BRS candidate for three terms, many colonies lacked drinking water and drainage facilities. The State government was spending nearly Rs 150 crore towards taking up different development works, she stated at a street corner meeting in Borabanda on Friday.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy holds Municipal Administration portfolio. If Naveen Yadav was elected in the by-election, all the issues in Jubilee Hills constituency would be addressed, the Minister assured.
“Give an opportunity to Naveen Yadav and development and welfare will be at your doorsteps. In Jubilee Hills constituency alone, ration cards are offered to 15 lakh families,” Anasuya stressed while campaigning in different colonies under Borabanda Site III.
Since former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s tenure, it was Congress government which had taken up several developmental works in the region. In future too, the development of the region would be possible only with Congress, she said. “If you want hardships then vote for BRS and if you want Indiramma House then vote for Congress. Sentiment is not essential but development is required,” Anasuya told the residents.
Earlier in the day, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar conducted door-to-door campaign at Vengal Rao Nagar division. Appealing to the residents to support Naveen Yadav, the Minister said the Congress government was extending 200 units free power, free bus travel to women, new ration cards and interest-free loans to women.
Later in the day, he campaigned at Krishnanagar and neighbouring areas of Yousufguda. “Congress candidate Naveen Yadav is winning the by-election comfortably with bumper majority,” Prabhakar exuded confidence.
