Hyderabad: The auspicious Sri Nityananda Trayodashi, marking the appearance of Sri Nityananda Rama, was celebrated with devotion and grandeur at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple, Banjara Hills, on Saturday.
Sri Nityananda Rama is revered as the incarnation of Lord Balarama, the eternal associate and elder brother of Lord Sri Krishna. During the age of Kali, Lord Krishna appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Navadweepa to establish the Yuga-Dharma of Hari Nama Sankirtana, the congregational chanting of the Holy Names as the most potent means of spiritual upliftment.
The highlight of the evening was the elaborate Ashtottara (108) Kalasha Maha Abhishekam of Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, performed with 108 kalashas filled with sacred ingredients such as panchamritam, panchagavyam, fruit juices, aromatic essences, and flowers. The ceremony culminated in a joyous Maha Arati, accompanied by spirited sankirtana and devotional dancing.
Morning celebrations included a three-hour Hari Nama Sankirtana, followed by the offering of a grand Chappan Bhog, featuring 56 varieties of prasadam prepared with devotion.
