Hyderabad: DGP CV Anand has directed police officers across the State to strengthen technology-driven policing to effectively tackle the rising menace of cybercrime and improve the State’s performance in national cybersecurity rankings.

Reviewing Cybersecurity initiatives, e-Zero FIR implementation and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) on Friday, the DGP asked all units to improve performance across the nine Key Performance Indicators monitored by the Centre.

He said the Centre has expressed concern over the surge in cyber frauds, particularly ‘digital arrest’ scams.

Anand also stressed the need for effective implementation of e-Zero FIRs, enhanced public cyber awareness campaigns, capacity building and wider use of CCTNS in cybercrime investigations.

TGCSB Director Shikha Goel and other senior officers were present.
