Senior IPS officer CV Anand, appointed as Telangana's Director General of Police, is likely to assume charge on May 1. A 1991-batch officer who served as Hyderabad Police Commissioner twice, Anand has held several key posts, including stints in Cyberabad and Vijayawada, and is a recipient of the President's Police Medal for Gallantry.

Anand is currently working as the Special Secretary, Home Department, Government of Telangana. He is a receipient of the President’s Gallantry Medal in 2002
