Hyderabad: DGP CV Anand on Thursday urged the State’s 93,000 police personnel to stay away from online betting, gaming, drugs and other addictions.
On World Suicide Prevention Day, Anand said the suicides of two police personnel in the past four months, reportedly linked to betting induced debts, were deeply disturbing.
He advised personnel to share financial problems with their families and seek help from senior officers instead of facing debt pressure alone.
The DGP said suicide was not a solution. “Live with courage and protect your family from lifelong pain,” he appealed the force.
