DGP reviews security arrangements for Global Summit at Future City
Telangana DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy reviewed security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming Global Summit at Future City, Kandukur. Accompanied by senior officials, he inspected the venue and emphasised flawless coordination. To manage traffic, 1,000 personnel will be deployed with diversions planned to ease congestion.
Hyderabad: DGP B Shivadhar Reddy on Friday conducted an extensive review of the security and logistical arrangements being made for the upcoming Global Summit scheduled to be held at Future City in Kandukur of Ranga Reddy district.
Accompanied by Additional DGPs Mahesh Bhagwat and D.S. Chauhan, Fire Services DG Vikram Singh Mann, TGIIC MD Shashank and other officials, the DGP inspected the venue and held discussions with senior officials from various departments.
Speaking after the review, Shivadhar Reddy said the State Government was hosting the high-profile summit with utmost priority, and elaborate arrangements were underway.
“Around 3,000 national and international delegates are expected to attend the event. Entry for delegates will be permitted only on December 8 and 9, while the venue will remain open to the general public for the following four days,” the DGP said.
Stating that a three-tier security cover will be implemented around VIP visitors, more than 1,000 CCTV cameras have been installed across the summit zone, all of which will be integrated with the Central Police Control Room.
Directing officials to maintain flawless coordination, he said that no lapses will be tolerated regarding bandobast. Given the international significance of the summit, he stressed the need for foolproof security measures.
To regulate traffic during the summit, around 1,000 traffic police personnel will be deployed and traffic enforcement measures will be in place to avoid congestion and inconvenience to commuters with specific routes having mandatory diversions for two days.
