South superstar Dhanush was all praises for his co-star in his upcoming movie ‘Atrangi Re’, Bollywood diva Sara Ali Khan.
The duo looked their stunning selves as they recently made an appearance together on Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee Shots with Karan’ episode on Disney+Hotstar. While the ‘Karnan’ actor was dressed in an all-black ensemble, Sara raised the fashion quotient in a contrasting white Dolce & Gabbana dress.
As the show began, Dhanush revealed that he is an introvert who talks less and is shy. On the other hand, both Sara and Karan couldn’t stop themselves from heaping praises on Dhanush throughout the episode. Dhanush even won the infamous rapid-fire round on the show, while Sara won the buzzer round.
The ‘Raghuvaran B.Tech’ star told Karan that he was initially skeptical about Sara’s acting skills but after working on the film with her, his opinion completely changed.
“I signed the film the moment I knew Aanand L Rai was directing it. To be very honest, I was a little worried,” Dhanush admitted to host Karan about Sara’s casting. “It’s such a big role and a very difficult character to play. I had to ask Aanand ji how many films she has done and when he told me it was just two-three films at the time, I asked him if she can pull it off. However, Aanand ji told me he saw something in her,” added Dhanush, who plays Sara’s romantic interest in the film along with Akshay Kumar.
On how his perception of Sara changed, Dhanush added, “Sara brings amazing energy on the sets – we all laugh a lot because of her. She is very sincere and hardworking, and I was pleasantly surprised looking at how seriously she took her character of Rinku Sooryavanshi. She knew she landed a golden character and she went all out working on it. I am usually awkward when saying nice things about my co-stars but this truly comes from my heart.”
Dhanush, who debuted in Bollywood opposite Sonam Kapoor in ‘Raanjhanaa’, said that she was a better co-star compared to Sara. On being asked who are the people she would want in her ‘swayamvar’, Sara replied, “Ranveer Singh, Vijay Deverakonda, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan.”
‘Atrangi Re’ is set to hit the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar on December 24 2021.
