Jagtial: Responding to the model code violation case registered against him, SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Tuesday claimed that he had not violated the model code of conduct and had not misused political power in the guise of electioneering.
Speaking to reporters in Dharmapuri, Laxman Kumar said he had attended Sri Krishna pravachanams at the request of the organisers and later proceeded to Velgatur and Dharmaram, where the model code of conduct was not in force.
Stating that the model code was applicable only within municipal limits, he said it did not extend beyond Thimmapur. The Minister said there were only a few vehicles in his convoy except for two security vehicles.
Though the model code was not applicable, some people recorded visuals of his vehicles, projecting them as a violation of the model code, and uploaded the footage on social media, he alleged.
