Jogulamba Gadwal: Differences among Congress leaders in the district flared up again and this time, it was at the Bhu Bharathi awareness programmes organized here on Saturday.
After the Assembly elections, Gadwal MLA Krishnamohan Reddy shifted loyalties from BRS to Congress. Ever since, his supporters have been at loggerheads with supporters of Saritha Tirupataiah, who contested from the Congress in the elections.
During the Bhu Bharathi portal awareness programme, supporters of both the leaders got engaged in heated arguments over protocol. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi, Gadwal MLA Krishnamohan Reddy and others were present on the stage.

As the programme commenced and the Gadwal MLA tried to address the gathering, supporters of Saritha Tirupataiah objected to his speech. They demanded that Saritha Tirupataiah should be invited onto the stage.
As the Nagarkurnool MP tried to speak to Saritha’s supporters and appealed to them to calm down, they raised slogans against Krishnamohan Reddy. As the situation was going out of control, police had to intervene and caned the supporters of Saritha.
After the situation came under control, the programme was continued and farmers were briefed about the Bhu Bharathi portal.
