Warangal Urban: VAJRA Kavach, a disinfection machine developed by a Mumbai based start-up Inphlox Water Systems (INDRA Water) in association with the Centre for Augmenting WAR with COVID-19 Health Crisis (CAWACH), has been set up at the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) office here on Wednesday.
CAWACH is an initiative of the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), implemented by the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), IIT Bombay.
The authorities of the GWMC have urged the sanitation worker and others to make use of this facility to sanitise face masks including the N-95 masks, medical equipment, face shields, goggles, PPE kits, labcoats/vests, textiles, wallets, and others.
It is said that the multi-stage disinfection process with advanced oxidation, corona discharge, and UVC light spectrum inactivates the virus, bacteria, and other microbes on N95 masks/PPE/coats, etc., had more than 99.999% efficiency (Tested by Department of Bio-sciences& Bio-engineering, IIT Bombay).
VAJRA Kavach uses advanced oxidation, electrostatic discharge, and UVC light spectrum to inactivate the viruses, bacteria, and other microbial strains present on the PPE. This saves costs by making the PPE, medical, and nonmedical gear reusable. The system was set up under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by the INDRA Water. ASCI representatives Raja Mohan Reddy and other officials were present at the inauguration of the machine.
