Distressed over lack of job notifications a young woman dies by suicide in Khammam
A 25-year-old woman in Khammam died after consuming weedicide, reportedly distressed over lack of government job notifications. She was preparing for competitive exams and died while undergoing treatment. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation

Khammam: Unable to secure a government job due to lack of job notifications, a young woman died by suicide at Teldarupalli village in the limits of Edulapuram Municipality of Palair Assembly constituency, represented by Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, in the district.
According to the woman’s mother, Unnam Ramanamma, the deceased, Unnam Bhavani (25), had completed her post-graduation. For some time, she had been staying at home and preparing for competitive examinations.
She was said to be severely distressed due to the lack of job notifications and the anxiety that she might never secure employment. She consumed weedicide on Tuesday morning. On noticing this, her family members immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Khammam.
However, doctors at the private hospital advised the family that her condition was critical and beyond recovery and suggested that they take her home. Consequently, she was shifted to a government hospital, where she died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint filed by Bhavani’s mother, Khammam Rural police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
