Khammam: A teenage girl and a youth died by suicide in separate but closely linked incidents in Panditapuram village of Kamepalli mandal on Tuesday night.
According to police, Gadipalli Srikanth (24) was found hanging in a crop field on the outskirts of the village. Within a short time, 19-year-old Bandi Harika, who lived in a house adjacent to Srikanth’s, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her home while her family members were away.
Police suspect a love affair between the two may have led to their death. The bodies were shifted to the Government General Hospital in Khammam for postmortem and later handed over to their families on Wednesday.
Local police have registered cases and are investigating.
