Distribution of rice stalled in many places in erstwhile Karimnagar

People were seen standing in queues in front of ration shops right from morning. In some areas, ration cards and empty rice bags were placed in queue lines. Distribution of rice was resumed after the problem was rectified.

Karimnagar: Distribution of PDS rice was stalled for a few hours in the erstwhile Karimnagar district due to technical problems. The e-PoS machines did not work due to the server being down. The situation was the same in many places across the State, according to reports.

People were seen standing in queues in front of ration shops right from morning. In some areas, ration cards and empty rice bags were placed in queue lines. Distribution of rice was resumed after the problem was rectified.

On the other hand, so far, fine variety rice has not been available to many ration shops in the district, especially in Jagtial. Ration dealers have closed shops as there was no stock.

When questioned by the people, dealers assured to supply rice in two phases. It is learnt that distribution of rice is being continued in the areas where the public representatives have launched the distribution of fine variety rice.
