Hyderabad: The recent appointment of Head of Medical Oncology from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Dr Sadashivudu, as the in-charge Director of MNJ Cancer Hospital, Red hills has not gone down well with the hospital doctors.
Since the appointment of Dr Sadashivudu, the staff and faculty of MNJ Institute of Oncology, along with senior members of Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA), have been participating in protests.
Senior doctors from the hospital maintained that it was not appropriate to appoint a junior faculty member from NIMS as the Director while overlooking several senior faculty members within the institute.
The protesting doctors raised concerns that this decision, instead of solving existing problems, would only exacerbate them further.
A central team from TGGDA also met Dr Sadashivudu to convey the general dissatisfaction regarding this appointment. They stated they are hopeful that the government will find a resolution to this issue quickly.
Senior office bearers from TGGDA, including central president Dr Narahari, general secretary Dr Lallu Prasad, Dr Deendayal, Dr Pallam Praveen, Dr Siddipet Ramesh and others were present.
