Hyderabad: A heated argument between two senior government officials, allegedly over a pet dog, escalated into an alleged public disturbance and a police case in Banjara Hills.

The incident occurred on April 13 at the IAS&IPS officers’ quarters on Road No 10, where IRS officer Nitika Singh filed a complaint accusing her neighbour, IFS officer Suthan SP, of creating a ruckus outside her residence.

As per the complaint, the confrontation began after Singh’s pet dog reportedly pooped near the common area. Objecting to this, Suthan allegedly confronted household staff and behaved aggressively, shouting and repeatedly banging doors. “The situation allegedly worsened when he damaged flower pots in the shared area and threw objects during the argument,” the complainant said.

She also accused him of using offensive language, making derogatory comments against her and acting in a threatening manner.

Following the complaint, the Banjara Hills police booked a case under BNS related to public nuisance, abusive behaviour and property damage.

Officials visited the location, recorded statements from both sides, and are investigating.

Police said the matter was under probe and appropriate action will be taken based on evidence.
