Doubts over motive of NRI’s threat call to Choppadandi MLA

Karimnagar: Did Choppadandi MLA Medipally Satyam fall prey to a WhatsApp scam? With the arrest of London-based Rangareddy native Akhilesh Reddy, different versions are making rounds, including that the Congress MLA was trapped into answering a WhatsApp call by a woman without clothes, and that the accused was blackmailing him using a recorded version of the call.
However, police have not confirmed this, and are sticking to the version that it was a threat and extortion call. At the same time, they are not revealing what was the reason of the threat call.
Meanwhile, there is also another version making the rounds that the accused, Akhilesh Reddy, who was allegedly known for blackmailing politicians, businessmen and others, had targeted the legislator since he was a first time MLA. It is learned that another case was registered against Akhilesh Reddy in Cyberabad police commissionerate limits.
