Dozen bus passengers injured in bus accident on NH 44 in Andhra Pradesh
More than a dozen passengers were injured, some critically, after a private luxury bus travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru collided with an oncoming truck near Pogururu bridge in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district. Both vehicles fell from the bridge, prompting rescue operations
Hyderabad: More than a dozen bus passengers were injured, some of them critically, when a Bengaluru bound bus met with an accident on National Highway 44 near Pogururu bridge in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Sunday.
Reports reaching here said the private luxury bus on its way to Bengaluru from Hyderabad dashed against an oncoming truck and both vehicles jumped off the bridge. There were about 40 passengers in the bus.
Passersby and policemen who reached the spot extricated the injured passengers from the bus and rushed them to nearby hospitals. More information is awaited.
