DPS Nacharam: Children get tips to improve oral hygiene
At the virtual session, eminent dental surgeon Dr. Sushmita Vadd explained to the students, functions of teeth, the importance of dental care and steps to be taken to ensure good dental care.
Delhi Public School, Nacharam organised a virtual session on oral hygiene for the students of the primary section. School Principal Sunitha S Rao encouraged the students to always be with the best smile which comes from good oral hygiene.
We always give top priority to the health and safety of students. Even during such times of pandemic, we left no stone unturned in this regard, the school said. The session aimed to give the benefits of best health practices to students, it said
At the virtual session, eminent dental surgeon Dr. Sushmita Vadd explained to the students, functions of teeth, the importance of dental care and steps to be taken to ensure good dental care. She said the best way to prevent tooth decay and remove plaque was by brushing and cleaning teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled brush.
Brushing removes plaque from the tooth surfaces. She also emphasized flossing which is essential to prevent gum disease. The session was interactive and informative.
Students enthusiastically answered a quiz session on dental care by the doctor. Students were keen to know more about oral hygiene and Dr. Sushmita very patiently addressed each one of them. The session concluded with queries from parents to which Dr.Sushmita has responded with enlightening pointers and short videos.
