Father’s Day is a day when Sonora Smart Dodd wanted to acknowledge and honour the role of a father or father like figures in our life. Father’s Day has garnered much prominence in India with passage of time. DPS Nadergul organised several activities to commemorate the Father’s Day. Children from primary grades to grade X, all came forward to express their love and gratitude towards their nana/papa/appa through several activities and made this day a memorable one.
It all started with ‘Tie – Dye’ t-shirt painting by the tiny tots and they also made attractive cards. Their event was wrapped up with an amusing Father’s Day special Zumba dance. Kids of grade II celebrated the selfless love of their fathers virtually. They made greeting card and wrote lovely messages saying ‘Daddy you are my superhero’. The dream of every child to step into the shoes of their father got life when they dressed like their father and drew moustaches to click pictures with their superhero.
Children of grade III expressed their love through handmade paper roll cards and presented it to their fathers. They delivered a beautiful message to all the fathers out there — “Thank you for all that you are and all that you’ve done. Wishing you all the happiness and joy.” The budding artists of grades IV to VI designed their own photo frame to frame the pictures with their sire. Grades VII to VIII painted their father not with colours but with words. They expressed their relation and gratitude towards their father through word cloud.
The veiled teen age peeped through the lenses. Shutterbugs of grade IX and X set their focus on their father and captured his candid moments and made a collage to gift him. They let their superhero know that they are ready to share their secrets too.
