Hyderabad: Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills observed Maria Montessori month to promote self-sufficiency, independence, critical thinking and fine motor development among the students. The event was a tribute to Dr Montessori to acknowledge her contribution to the field of education. The school says it organises such events every year and believes that education should prepare a person for all aspects of life. The school says it plans activities in such a way that each skill can be developed to interlock with another. The approach is to value the human spirit and the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional, cognitive, the school adds. The programme, under the guidance of Principal Sunitha Rao, was enjoyed by the enthusiast tiny tots of the school who found it following their interests and developmental needs.
