Adilabad: Dr RS Praveen Kumar, who voluntary retired from the IPS, said he would strive hard to realise the ideals of Dr BR Ambedkar, tribal legend Kumram Bheem and Kanshi Ram who sacrificed their lives to transform lives.

He performed special prayers at the ancient Sri Nagoba temple at Keslapur village in Indervelli on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media later, Praveen Kumar said he would like to transform the lives of downtrodden communities. “My objective is to help students of SC, ST communities in achieving higher goals by accomplishing higher studies. My sole agenda is education, health and economy to the society,” he said.

“Much is left to be done for the downtrodden communities even as I worked hard to bring about a change in the society for the past 26 years of my service. I could do justice to barely one per cent of the public. The remaining 99 percent of the underprivileged communities are yet to be covered. I will reach out to the community as a commoner and not as an IPS officer,” he explained.

Praveen Kumar, however, declared he would soon take social revolution to every street and village. He said that tribal students from remote parts of Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Adilabad district were pursuing higher education in foreign countries including Europe, Egypt and the US. “This is real social revolution and development. We will take it to every street and village,” he disclosed.

He said he would chalk out an action plan to reach the goal. He stated that he would not comment on floating a new political party at this juncture. “I don’t have any other agenda except serving the poor and disadvantaged communities. I will not leave the way shown by DR BR Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram and Kumram Bheem. I will not be bought by someone nor will I sell anything,” he said, and urged the people not to believe in rumours and speculations circulated on social media platforms.

Praveen Kumar earlier garlanded the statue of Madavi Tukaram, first tribal IAS officer in Utnoor mandal centre. He attended a house-warming function at Dantanpalli village.
