DRI seizes 1.8 kg gold from Kuwait-Hyderabad passenger at RGIA
A male passenger arriving from Kuwait was apprehended at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for smuggling 1.8 kg of gold concealed in his baggage. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized seven gold bars worth approximately Rs 2.37 crore.

Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad seized gold weighing 1.8 kg from a male passenger who arrived here on a Kuwait-Hyderabad flight on Thursday.
The estimated worth of the seized gold was approximately Rs 2.37 crore.
According to the officials, following specific inputs, the passenger was caught smuggling a total of seven bars of the yellow metal of different shapes, sizes and weights concealed within his baggage.
His arrest was recorded and he was sent to judicial custody, officials said. Further investigation is underway.
