Adilabad: A 31-year old driver was killed on the spot as the lorry driven by him, has overturned when a goods container rammed into it on Hyderabad-Nagpur national highway (NH-7) on the outskirts of Bheemsari village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Saturday. Adilabad Rural Sub-Inspector B Anjamma said the deceased was identified as Boya Ramu of Khurshid Nagar in Adilabad district headquarters.
Ramu received fatal injuries when the lorry turned turtle following the collision, resulting in his instant death. Both lorry and container were moving in the same direction at the time of the mishap. Rash and negligence of the container driver is suspected to have resulted in the road mishap. The driver has been absconding following the incident.
On coming to know about the accident, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad for post-mortem. The case is under investigation.
