Hyderabad: National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) Director CV Anand on Monday said the drones were modern day force multipliers that can enhance the capabilities of security forces.

He opined that the aerial drone services were the future of surveillance and is inevitable to become an ideal tool for upgrading security forces. In his welcome address at a summit on applications of drones and anti- drone technologies in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) organized at the academy in Hakimpet, Anand also cautioned against the rising menace of drones while referring to recent incidents in Jammu region.


He explained about the advantages of drones to the forces and its force multiplier role. The purpose of the summit was to see the possibility of customisation of drones according to needs of various functional sectors and face the challenges posed by them.

It was organized in light of the recent drone attacks on the borders and the threat the drone pose to internal security and installations. Officers from the CISF, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), College of Defence management and Air Force Station Hakimpet attended along with 50 other officers on virtual mode.

Participants included 10 corporates and start-up companies from all over the country. Many anti-drone technologies were also exhibited along with the new drone technologies which can be deployed in the armed forces. The summit has also enabled many officers to acquaint themselves with the technology.

Anagh Singh, Senior Innovation Specialist – Agni Mission and Vikrant Khazanchi, Assistant vice-president Agni Mission from the PMO also addressed the gathering.
