Drug peddler held with 200 ml hashish oil worth Rs 2.5 lakh in Hyderabad
The EAGLE Force and Abdullapurmet police arrested a 30-year-old man and seized 200 ml of hashish oil worth around Rs 2.5 lakh at Hyderabad’s ORR. Police said he procured the drug from an Odisha supplier through Snapchat for sale in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: The EAGLE Force, along with Abdullapurmet Police, nabbed a drug peddler and seized 200 ml of hashish oil worth around Rs 2.5 lakh at the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad highway on Saturday.
According to police, the suspect, Burse Narendra Srinivas (30), a driver and resident of Balapur, Ranga Reddy district, is a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the police, Srinivas allegedly came into contact with a supplier, Hari from Paduwa in Koraput district of Odisha, through Snapchat and started procuring hashish oil from him for sale among customers in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
The suspect reportedly travelled to Odisha on August 2 and purchased two bottles containing 200 ml of hashish oil for Rs 9,000. While returning to Hyderabad by bus, he was intercepted by EAGLE Force and Abdullapurmet Police after getting down at the ORR, said Sandeep Shandilya, Director, EAGLE Force.
The police said Srinivas used Snapchat to communicate with the supplier and customers and avoided advance bus bookings to evade detection. So far, 10 consumers in LB Nagar and nearby areas have been identified.
A case has been registered at Abdullapurmet police station. Efforts are on to nab the absconding supplier Hari.
