Drunk driving: Car rams into parked bikes in Hyderabad, trio held
A speeding Hyundai i20 allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol rammed into parked motorcycles in Hayathnagar, Hyderabad. The accident, captured on CCTV, caused panic but no casualties. Police have detained the occupants and launched an investigation.
Hyderabad: A speeding car created havoc after it went out of control and rammed into parked vehicles on the Injapur Road in Hayathnagar on the suburb on Tuesday night.
According to information available, an Hyundai i20 car, allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol, lost control and crashed into three parked motorcycles, leaving them completely damaged.
Eyewitnesses told the police that the car was moving at high speed, forcing nearby motorists and pedestrians to run for safety to avoid being hit. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Locals noticed that the driver and two other occupants in the car were allegedly heavily drunk and appeared to be in an incoherent state. The trio was subsequently taken into custody by the police.
The surveillance cameras installed in the area captured the entire sequence of the accident which is now being examined by authorities as part of the investigation.
Police are expected to take strict action against the suspects for drunk driving and endangering public safety.
