Khammam: A drunk man allegedly killed his mother at Brahmanapalli village of Bonakal mandal in the district.

The accused, Thatikonda Papaiah, was said to have beaten his wife under the influence of alcohol during the late night hours on Saturday. Then his 70-year-old mother, Marthamma, tried to stop him from beating his wife.

Papaiah, who was out of his senses, pushed his mother hard against a wall and she died after suffering head injury. The local SI, Madhu, booked a case in connection with the incident and launched an investigation.
