Mulugu: A drunk man hacked his aunt to death with an axe at Ippalagudem of Venkatapuram mandal in the district on Thursday.
The accused, Kondagorla Vijay Kumar, nephew of Kondagorla Yellamma (50), was said to be addicted to alcohol. He asked his aunt for money to buy liquor. When she refused, he hacked her to death with an axe on the roadside.
Later, he went to the police station with the axe and surrendered. CI Mutyam Ramesh registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.
