Drunk tractor driver runs over drunk biker, Cyberabad cops tweet video

The accident, a non-fatal one on Sunday in Petbasheerabad, had violations in the form of drunk driving by both the bike rider and the tractor driver

Hyderabad: In yet another road safety awareness video using real life accidents tweeted by the Cyberabad Traffic Police, a tractor driver is seen running over a bike rider and riding off nonchalantly till another biker stops him.

The accident, a non-fatal one on Sunday in Petbasheerabad, had violations in the form of drunk driving by both the bike rider and the tractor driver, both driving without driving license, reckless driving, bike rider not wearing a helmet, and the reckless tractor driver absconding from the scene of the accident.

The Cyberabad Traffic Police, who tweeted the CCTV footage of the incident, said the bike rider was ‘fine’ and alive, quite lucky considered that the 40-second-video shows the tractor going over him after he falls off the bike. The tractor was on the wrong side of the road as well.

The video also shows another biker, who witnesses the accident, giving chase to the tractor driver, who sped off after mowing down the first biker. The second biker manages to intercept the tractor soon enough, but according to the police, the tractor driver fled the spot abandoning his vehicle.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
